Nick Marr has been involved in music for decades, from his early days as a mobile disco DJ to presenting on JFSR and hosting The Groove Selection. Over the years, music has always remained a constant passion, even while his career took him into business, online real estate, marketing and entrepreneurship.

His musical roots are firmly in Jazz Funk, Soul, Funk and Boogie, with influences extending into reggae, UK Garage, deep house and contemporary dance music. That wide mix reflects years of listening, collecting vinyl and playing to very different audiences.

More recently, Nick has brought that experience together through radio, DJing, writing and producing his own music. He has also developed a particular interest in supporting and promoting young South African musicians whose fresh approach to soul and house has created a distinctive sound and energy.

For Nick, music has always been about more than simply playing tracks. It is about connection, discovery, emotion and sharing music that means something. Now, after many years around music in different forms, he is putting that passion into his own releases and continuing to champion the sounds and artists that inspire him.
