Nick Marr
Founder, Global Overseas Property Marketing Network
PropTech entrepreneur specialising in international property marketing and buyer acquisition.
I am the founder and owner of HomesGoFast.com (established 2002) and EuropeanProperty.com (established 1999), long-running international property platforms connecting agents, developers, and private sellers with overseas buyers across more than 50 countries.
For more than two decades, my work has focused on how technology transforms property markets — from early online marketplaces to global digital buyer acquisition networks. Long before “PropTech” became an industry term, I pioneered online property marketing models that challenged traditional approaches and expanded consumer choice.
The NickMarr.com Website
NickMarr.com exists because many of the systems shaping modern life — property, money, technology, leadership, and regulation — are often discussed superficially.
This site is a space to step back from headlines and examine how systems actually work: how incentives drive behaviour, how regulation reshapes markets, and how decisions made by a small number of institutions affect individuals and communities.
Having spent my career operating inside these systems — building businesses, navigating regulation, training people, and working across international markets — this platform allows me to share practical insight drawn from experience rather than theory.
PropertyTech Innovation Recognition
My work as an early online estate agency pioneer was recognised by the Financial Times, which featured me in its coverage of the emerging digital property sector during a period when traditional estate agency models were beginning to face technological disruption. The article highlighted how early online estate agents challenged established industry practices by using the internet to give consumers greater choice and reduce reliance on high-street intermediaries. At a time when online property marketing was still considered experimental, the feature positioned my work as part of the first wave of innovation that helped shape the transition toward today’s digital real estate marketplaces. BBC Appearance
My work in developing early online property marketing models also led to a live appearance on BBC Breakfast, where I discussed the emerging role of the internet in reshaping how homes could be bought and sold. At the time, selling property online without traditional percentage-based estate agency fees was widely considered a radical idea. The broadcast featured a debate with industry representatives exploring consumer choice, technological change, and the future of property marketing. The appearance marked a pivotal moment in bringing online estate agency concepts into mainstream public discussion as digital platforms began transforming the real estate sector.
Property Innovation & International Real Estate
Property has been central to my professional life, but my interest extends far beyond transactions.
Through HomesGoFast.com and EuropeanProperty.com, I have worked with international buyers, developers, investors, and real estate professionals navigating cross-border markets. These experiences have provided a front-row view of how taxation, regulation, mobility, and geopolitics influence where people live, invest, and move capital.
Property is never just about homes — it reflects economic systems, policy decisions, and long-term societal change.
Technology, Markets & Systems Thinking
My writing explores how technology and incentives reshape industries and behaviour.
I focus particularly on:
how regulation quietly determines market outcomes
how technology redistributes power and decision-making
how financial and property systems evolve over time
how innovation succeeds or fails in real-world environments
Rather than promoting hype or pessimism, the aim is to analyse consequences — what changes actually mean for individuals, organisations, and society.
Startups, Leadership & Facilitation
Alongside entrepreneurship, leadership development and facilitation have been a consistent part of my career.
I have delivered training and facilitation programmes focused on leadership, workplace culture, behavioural change, and safety performance. Earlier experience with the Metropolitan Police shaped my understanding of leadership under pressure, risk management, and organisational systems.
My approach combines strategic thinking with practical experience, supported by certifications in NLP and Emotional Intelligence, and focuses on accountability, inclusion, and sustainable performance.
Social Impact & Culture Change
My interest in leadership extends beyond business into social impact initiatives, including founding the Tashan Daniel Foundation and leading the Walter Tull WWI Medal Campaign.
These initiatives reflect a belief that leadership carries responsibility — and that history, recognition, and fairness play an important role in shaping modern culture.
Why I Write
I write because understanding systems matters.
Whether someone is making a major property decision, leading a team, navigating regulation, or adapting to technological change, clarity is more valuable than noise.
NickMarr.com brings together my experience across property, technology, leadership, and innovation to explore how complex systems shape real outcomes.
